TM-13: eLearning: Putting a Hydrogen Supply System Into and Out of Service

Abstract

The hydrogen sector is expanding rapidly due to a focus on renewable and clean energy. This growth is concentrated in consumer-facing areas like gas stations and convenience stores, rather than the traditional industrial settings. It's crucial for newcomers to the field to understand and implement best safety practices when working with hydrogen. The material in this module is based on CGA H-7, Standard Procedures for Hydrogen Supply Systems.

This module covers both gaseous and cryogenic liquid hydrogen supply systems and the following:
• Hydrogen properties and hazards;
• General principles for work on a hydrogen system
• Best practices for putting a hydrogen supply system into service (commissioning), for an initial fill or after maintenance; and
• Best practices for taking a hydrogen supply system out of service (decommissioning), before system removal or maintenance.
